THE COMPUTER KILLER!

Hello family, friends and followers. I know, I know, it's been too long between posts. But I have several reasons for not being up here. Work is one reason, but since this has never stopped me before, I can't really use it as an excuse. The real reason is the flippin, frikin, computer I am forced to use every day.

Mind you, I have a lightening-fast, brand spanking new and shiny honey of a computer sitting in my cottage as we speak. But I haven't been able to use if for over a year because the cottage is located just far enough away that connectivity is not possible without jumping thru some pretty expensive hoops.

This annoyance has plagued my life for so many months that each time I revisit the topic, (which is each time I sit down in front of the one I'm using now), it's all I can do to contain my frustration and stop myself from jumping out a f u c k i n g window!

This computer is slow, old and ugly. It's in a dark room on a cluttered desk and I would like nothing more than to toss it, instead of myself out a window and take pleasure in watching it crash and burn! I'm serious about this. I would love to feel what it would be like to KILL THIS COMPUTER! This beast that has devoured so many of my precious hours and has caused me such grief for so many, many months.

I'm working on this, and any day now the pressure of the situation may have me so far against the wall I'm on the verge of using drastic measures to take care of the problem once and for all! In the mean time, my panties are in a bunch, I'm gritting my teeth and becoming crankier and crankier as I sit staring at a blank screen waiting for it to open a son-of-a-bitch-en page. Heaven forbid I should inadvertently click on something. The price for that is a long, slow and agonizing wait that very often requires a complete shut down and reboot. Reboot takes up to 20 minutes and I'm here to tell you that I can't take it another day.

Having said that, I hope you all have a great evening. I'm going to bury my head under the covers now. Love you, mean it.

  1. Been missin' you -- one of my aliases is "neoluddite," so I'm with ya on hating the necessary evils that these machines are. But you can't have us all going through withdrawal without a fix, can you ...?

  2. I know how frustrating it is when a computer is slow. The one I use at home is fine, but the one they gave me at work is an antique, and it's brutally slow.

I know! You could move the good computer to the big house until cottage condiditons improve, or wireless router range increases. Problem solved!
