How could I have been so wrong about the Academy Award production last night? Not only did the opening skits have me Laughing Out Loud, so did Billy Crystal, Kirk Douglas and a few other unexpected surprises!
The sets were fabulous, the music was great (maybe too little of it), and I thought they did a pretty good job keeping acceptance speeches to a minimum. Way to go, folks. This shows to go you what I know! I'm the first to admit I was wrong about the changes being too much, and offer kudos to everyone involved for a great show. I'm even deferring wardrobe critiques to professionals like Joan Rivers and her crew.
On another note, I had a terrific idea this morning that may redeem me. Let's take Charlie Sheen, Momar Kadafi and Bernie Madoff, and put them in the same locked room together for about twelve months. The room would be equipped with a small mountain of cocaine, an automatic weapon (with plenty of ammo), and every back issue of the Wall Street Journal from 2008 to present. Have any ideas of your own as to who or what we should include here? I'd love to hear it.
